We’ve been doing our grocery shopping at the Tamimi Supermarket on campus but last night we went into Jeddah and checked out the Bindawood hypermarket, which was amazing because things were much cheaper.
We tried to buy veal but when the guy gave us the package we realized it was camel. We still bought it anyway.
Fruit was cheap.
Except for the Egyptian mangoes which cost about $3 each. They were expensive but way better than the disgusting kind we get at Tamimi. I miss living in a country with decent mangoes.
I found my FAVORITE chocolate chip cookies. Different packaging but same chocolate-y goodness. Cheaper than in Taiwan.
Milk and yogurt are pretty cheap as well.
Jose baked the camel and it was pretty good! Kind of like of a cross between beef and lamb. Next time I think we’ll try ostrich 🙂
