…didn’t happen. To say I’m disappointed is a total understatement. With Jose in Taiwan for work I thought this weekend was perfect for a little “me” time to sightsee and take photos with the Photography Club. I’d arranged for Casper to go camping with some friends. We were all going to have an amazing weekend. At 32+ weeks I felt that this was my last chance to see something besides the malls and the hospital before the baby comes.
We left KAUST at 4 am and actually got on the plane on time despite minor hiccups (lost passport/iqama, wrong plane attire, etc.) We were actually flying over Ha’il when the captain announced that there was a sandstorm and we couldn’t land so we had to turn back to Jeddah. I hoped the sandstorm would clear up and we’d be able to take a later flight but no, flights across the country were delayed at least 8 hours. Saudia Airlines were already checking passengers into nearby hotels. We took taxis back to KAUST and arrived at noon. Back in time for lunch.
The Muslim woman beside me on the plane said that it was Allah’s divine plan and there was probably a reason for this turn of events.

Oh well, at least Casper had fun.
