A few weeks ago our friend told us that there was a KAUST bus that actually takes people to Trio Ranch, where people can take horseback riding lessons and kids can ride ponies. We weren’t sure if we were going to ride or not but felt that Jasmine might enjoy an nice evening doing something different.
The bus leaves on Fridays around 3 or 4pm and gets there almost an hour and a half later. It was a nice open area where women don’t have to wear abayas.
Our friend told us that she started her very first beginner’s lesson the week before but when we got there the receptionist told her she could go to advanced level. Wow I didn’t realize you went up the ranks so quickly in horse riding.
Horseback riding is a full body workout. One lesson takes about 45 minutes and that’s plenty of time according to our friend. By 20 minutes you’re already wondering when your time will be up. Everyone who took the lessons came out drenched in sweat.
I’m not sure about the cost but it’s cheaper if you pay with at least one more person. The group price is around 30 SAR cheaper. If memory serves me right, it’s 120 SAR for a group of beginners and 160 SAR for a group of advanced riders. Anyone who doesn’t want to ride can go in for free.
